Joss Whedon Exits “Batgirl”

According to a report on the website Deadline, Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, and the writer/ director of the first two Avengers movies) has exited the Warner/ DC project Batgirl. This would have been Whedon’s first time helming a project in the DC Comics universe (although he directed reshoots of last year’s Justice League after Zack Snyder left the film due to personal reasons).

Whedon“Batgirl is such an exciting project, and Warners/DC such collaborative and supportive partners, that it took me months to realize I really didn’t have a story,” Whedon said in a statement.

No announcement yet from Warner Bros on the fate of the project, and whether it will continue with a different writer/ director. For more information, check out the full article here.
